Black History Month – SGS LRC Bookflix Special!

October 20, 2020 by Dani Wolfegang-James Leave a Comment

Every year, October is Black History Month. Black History Month was first celebrated in the U.K. in 1987, and in the U.S.A. in 1970 — but it’s precursor, Black History Week, has its origins all the way back in 1926!

Black History Month is about highlighting and celebrating Black History!

SGS LRCs have loads of books — both fiction and non-fiction — and DVDs about Black History, and/or written by Black authors, and we’ve put together a Bookflix Special highlighting just some of the awesome resources we have!

For a full size and interactive version of this month’s Bookflix, click here:

Black History Month Bookflix Fiction
(From the interactive version you can click on any book or DVD you like the look of, and you will be pinged straight to its page in our catalogue where you can immediately reserve it for collection!)
