How To Borrow Items From SGS LRC – COVID-19 Edition

September 1, 2020 by Dani Wolfegang-James Leave a Comment

We’re back! Hooray! And we hope that you are looking forwards to starting or returning to SGS College this September!

But, as you might expect, we have had to make a few changes to our service this academic year. In order to keep you LRC Users and us LRC Staff safe, we have put some new systems and new ways for people to use the LRC into place. But don’t worry! We are still here, we are still open, and you can still borrow items and use our resources! Just… a little differently 🙂

So! What’s new, Scooby-doo?!

How To Borrow Items From The LRC

  • Search our online catalogue at lrc.sgscol.ac.uk
  • You can reserve items online with your library account. We will have the item(s) ready for you to collect at the site of your choice.
  • If you prefer, you can email lrc@sgscol.ac.uk and we can reserve an item for you, and get it ready for you to pick up (or give you advice on what items we have).
  • Speak to a member of staff in the LRC. Due to safety measures put in place to help protect against the spread of COVID-19 we ask you not to browse through the shelves and handle items. But let us know what you would like, and we will be happy to collect it for you!

The LRCs will be open between 10am and 3pm.
Please feel free to call us for help, or to ask any questions.

You can reach the LRC at your site by calling the appropriate number:

Filton: 01179 092 224
Queen’s Road: 01179 153 382
WISE: 01179 192 648
Stroud: 01453 761 140

And if you prefer to have your information delivered to you via a Snazzy Poster…

If you have any questions (about anything at all! We are librarians. We love answering questions…!) then leave a comment, drop us an email, or give us a call! We are always super happy to help — and even more so during these challenging times. Got a problem? Give us a shout!
