Stress is a common experience in the UK, so it’s important to find ways that we can manage emotional and mental pressures before they become a problem. Each year on November 3rd, Rethink Mental Illness run National Stress Awareness Day to get people talking about the issue and recognise the various causes. You can find loads of information on their website if you’re interested in gaining skills in how to cope with stress!
For this year’s National Stress Awareness Day, SGS LibraryPlus have a whole range of resources to help you learn about the effects of stress, as well as imaginative fiction if you’re in need of a wellbeing break. At Filton Campus, you can also find our new colouring and puzzle station – both activities are proved to reduce adult stress! They calm your brain and stimulate both creativity and logic. We’ve printed out loads of designs to choose from and you can find colouring pencils (free to use!) if you need.

Libraries are calm, relaxed study spaces; perfect for productivity. We hear the term ‘mindfulness’ a lot in the news and on social media, and across all of our campuses you can find practical guides and workbooks on how to unwind whilst studying.
