SGS Write Off 2018: Everything You Need to Know

November 5, 2018 by Ana Klein Leave a Comment

Pen and pencilThis year’s short story competition is here! If you like writing, winning, or becoming obsessed with make believe, read on to find out everything you need to know about the competition.

Theme

We’ve chosen a cracker of a theme for you this year. Get ready…

“How did you lose your shoes?”

Please, you can stop crying with joy. You can also stop crying with stress. The theme is just there as inspiration to get you going. You might base your whole plot around it or it might be mentioned in passing; do whatever works for you as long as we can see you’ve considered the theme.

Word count

You have a minimum of 300 words to knock our socks off or a maximum of 3000 words to knock off the socks we just put back on. Anywhere between those limits is absolutely fine, so go wild.

How to submit

You can hand in your story in person at Filton LRC or you can email it to lrc.filton@sgscol.ac.uk. Make sure that however you hand it in, we get your name, student number and email address.

Deadline

Now for the scary part. The final part. The end of times. Well, the end of competition time. You have until 3pm on Friday the 30th of November. You can also show us how amazing and organised you are by handing it in earlier. We are taking entries from the 1st of November!

You’ve got the info, now it’s time for you to get cracking. Good luck!
