Come along to the LRC next week to celebrate World Book Night 2018! The aim of World Book Night is to inspire more people to read, and to share books with those who don’t read for pleasure or own books.World Book Night is run by The Reading Agency.
So what’s going on in the LRC? Bring in your pre-loved books to swap for a new adventure, and take part in some of the competitions that we will be running for a chance to win ‘Satellite’ by Nick Lake, a brand-new young adult sci-fi novel (we have 80 copies to give away), alongside 3 items of your choice from El Shoppo.
Some of the activities in the LRC will include:
- Guess the book in a jar competition
- Guess the fictional character competition
- Write a short story competition
- Desert Island books
- Book Swap table
Or take part in the Space Race at WISE – read 5 or more books, articles or journals and win a copy of ‘Satellite’.
Additionally, all fines that are incurred next week will be donated to Read for Good, a charity that provides new books and storytellers to children’s hospitals.
